White Source SBO Program

The Small Business Online Program will be running until 30 June 2011 and is structured around a combination of delivery methods. These include introductory seminars, one-to-one business consultations, networking opportunities and advanced workshop training for a select group of participants.

Here's how to go about enrolling.

Introductory Seminars and Advanced Workshop

1. Attend one of our introductory seminars. These are being held in Cairns, Port Douglas, Innisfail and Mission Beach during the first half of 2010. The seminars will explain the purpose and the scope of the SBO program and help you to identify your online business needs.
2. Complete your seminar feedback form and indicate that you'd like to enrol in the program - you do this by simply ticking the box that says 'yes'! It's in the section called PART C - Further Details.
3. If you miss the seminar for your area, compete our Contact Us form to express your interest in enrolling in the program. While seminar participants will gain first priority, we will add you to our waitlist and contact you as soon as we know confirmed availability for places (there are only 200 spots available for the region).

Our Project Manager, Kevin White, will then contact you to arrange a meeting to discuss the online requirements of your business, before assigning a consultant who can take you through the rest of the program.

Towards the end of the program, an Advanced Workshop will be held for 20 participants which will cover the main issues identified during consultations across the year. This is currently slated for February 2011 and more details will be released closer to the date.

One to One Consultations

After your intial meeting with Kevin, you will be allocated a consultant who will work with you directly to identify the online opportunities for your business. This stage involves:

• Researching your business in relation to your industry and target audience;
• Meeting with you face-to-face to discuss your needs and develop some initial concepts for you to implement;
• Mentoring you via phone and email to review your progress; and
• Providing final recommendations and steps for ongoing development.

You will be allocated a total of 8 hours to access your consultant in working with your business. These 8 hours include travel time and all of the above activities.

The SBO project is oriented to "hands on" learning. It is flexible to work in with your needs, and it is geared to ensuring you are empowered, confident and "Online Ready" in taking your business online, or embracing new online opportunities.

This is an Australian Government funded initiative under the Small Business Online program.
